Definition: Supporting adaptability of firms and employees to structural economic change and the use of information technology and other new technologies

Theme F partnerships focused on existing businesses and workers and means of helping them adapt to changed markets. This has encompassed work on flexible learning, improved work-life balance, empowering employees with disabilities, developing virtual learning environments and upskilling older workers. Products include learning materials for the textile industry, guides, training handbooks and web sites.

My Time: Human Solutions to Human Problems >> My Time has established a partnership with Birmingham Chamber of Commerce in developing a 'humans in business' team that has the combined experience of entrepreneurs, human resource specialists, trainers and psychologists, and that can work with directors to develop their businesses in a way that increases motivation and customer confidence, and reduces stress.

Older Workers Learning (OWL) Project >> The project operated from July 2005 to December 2007 to: create OWL groups within participating companies in three geographic areas (Glasgow, South Lanarkshire, and Dumfries and Galloway) recruit and provide learning for 120 participants (tailored, older adult-focused courses, using ILT) recruit and support 30 companies in setting up older workers learning groups develop new ILT older workers learning programme recruit and train 20 volunteer older workers learning advisers work in partnership with local agencies to reach potential participants.
