5th Annual Skills For Life Conference - 8th July 2008

The 5th Annual Skills for Life Conference will bring together leaders and senior managers from further education, adult learning services, local authorities and the voluntary sector to case study effective practice and develop strategies to meet the challenges as we move towards the new 2020 PSA skills targets.

Voice of the Learner project shortlisted for award - added 27 June 2008

‘Voice of the Learner’ project led by the Engage - Birmingham and Solihull partnership has been short listed  in two categories of the CEL “Leading the learner voice” awards: Winifred Hignell (individual) and NIACE (organisation) for the awards that place in London on 03 July.

OSW win the Research, Advice and Support category in the 2008 Charity Awards - added 27 June 2008

OSW (Off the Streets and into Work) have just won a Charity Award for their Tackling Multiple Disadvantage in London programme, in the Research, Advice and Support category.

Enterprise Taktix Ltd - added 3 July 2008

Following on from the EQUAL Trading Up programme, Business Support Kent CIC has established a not for profit company, Enterprise Taktix Ltd http://www.enterprisetaktix.com/, to continue to improve the enterprise culture within Europe by providing Taktix programmes that create awareness of enterprise within a wide variety of groups - the long term unemployed, ex-offenders, women returners, the disadvantaged and low-educational achievers.

TUC Congress 2008 - 8th to 11th September 2008

The policy making body of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) is the annual Congress which meets for four days each year during September. Each affiliated union can send delegates to Congress - the larger the union, the more it can send. At Congress 'motions' (resolutions for debate) are proposed and discussed. These form the basis of the TUC's work for the next year.
