Definition: To test innovative approaches to attract non-traditional learners to improve their basic and new skills’

Theme E partnerships have addressed the extension of lifelong learning. Many have focused on ways of engaging older people in the labour market, and others have worked in community and family-based learning, and in initiatives specifically directed at people with disabilities and other priority target groups. Products include an equal opportunities guide for SME (Small and Medium Enterprises) managers, family learning materials, lifelong learning and active ageing research, learning materials, guides and handbooks, websites, good-practice reports, sector-specific materials, DVDs and CDs.

Developing and launching a web site >> The project has been undertaking radical developments in its web site in order to make better use of the facility as a marketing tool.

Digital Media for Social Change: MA Module >>Goldsmiths University has collaborated with Hi8us South to deliver a Digital Media for Social Change module as part of the MA in Cross Sectoral and Community Arts, within Goldsmiths’ department of Professional and Community Education (PACE).

DigiTales >>The DigiTales project is a digital storytelling project enabling people from marginalised communities across Europe to develop story ideas about their lives using film clips, photographs, objects, and soundtracks.

DIRECT-Work Placement in the Hotels and Catering Industry >>Under the banner of DIRECT-Work Placements, Lamda3 set about seeing how i-work project could engage the Hotel and Catering industry in Reading and Slough by placing unemployed persons into a Work-Experience placement with a view to gaining permanent employment during March and April 2005.

Diversity E-learning Demo >> The Diversity E-learning Demo CD-ROM c ontains modules on d iversity aimed at the housing sector , understanding the managing of diversity and generic introduction to diversity.

Diversity, Equality and Access to Learning (DEAL) >> The TUC has been working with partner organisations within its Diversity, Equality and Access to Learning (DEAL) partnership.

EASE Everyday Skills - employer satisfaction >> The aim of this project is to raise awareness of employers by extrapolating and analysing the responses from the employers and the networking organisations that have been involved in the project.

EDIT (Equality, Diversity, Inclusion for Trainers) >> Creation and training of a pool of people to disseminate diversity training raising awareness, promoting and developing the ethos of diversity at local, national and transnational levels across the broad public, private and voluntary sector spectrum.

Edrama >>An innovative online multi-user role-playing tool has been developed that can be used in a variety of learning situations, in a safe and controlled environment, and for virtually any subject.

Embracing Equality >>This project worked with 15 employers to promote the business case for diversity and equality through a number of initiatives.

Employer Engagement >> Aim To establish a foundation on which to build a credible and sustainable professional recruitment service that meets the needs of employers and offenders (and other stakeholders).

Employer Engagement >> Delivered by BITC, this project aims to promote employer engagement at three levels: Level 1 is raising awareness Level 2 is getting involved with the prison (primarily as an employer liaison group attached to the prison) and or prisoners Level 3 is offering work to offenders.

Employer Engagement and Information Sessions >>This project aimed to raise awareness and provide training sessions for as many employers as possible within Greater Manchester, in order to increase the take-up of employment of offenders.

Empowerment and Engagement Projects >>There are a number of projects within Engage that are overseen by representatives from charities and voluntary organisations.

Empowerment Through the Arts - Dundee >> This project presents an innovative pathway to learning using workshops in music, dance and visual arts designed to 'hook' hard-to-reach groups into learning and empower beneficiaries.

Engaging Excluded Young People into Education, Employment and Training >>Toucan Europe Ltd, Greater Manchester Residuary Body (GMRB), Manchester Youth Volunteering Project (MYVP), SEDI (Social Enterprise Development Initiative) and the Whalley Range Youth Opportunity Association piloted innovative methodologies of engaging excluded young people into education, employment or training.

Enhanced IAG for offenders and offender agencies >> Tribal is offering offenders and offender agencies enhanced IAG via NVQ Level 3 qualifications and matrix assessments.
