Activity information

Description

To identify skills that are directly transferable to the workplace gained by women on long term breaks caring for dependent offspring with learning disabilities or dependent older relatives. To collect and apply data for this Accredited Prior Learning model, the following activitities will take place: 1. Using a virtual college, bring 20 carers together to develop typical care vignettes and identify skills required to successfully manage a care episode. 2. Identify how these skills are transferable to the work place, and to create individual beneficiary portfolios to demonstrate this. 3. Investigate and implement time bank software so that effort can be logged and translated into a pilot 'learning voucher' system. 4. Investigate ways to accredit skills gained on carer breaks as Accredited Prior Learning.
