DESE - Developing Excellent Social Enterprises, C3 A Competitive Confident and Credible Social Economy

Activity information

Description

The key concerns of the DESE partnership are sustainability, credibility and competitiveness of the social economy sector and Social Enterprises. The main objective is to supporting social economy organisations to enable them to work more effectively, to reach more individuals and community groups and thus make a greater impact on equality issues in the labour market. There are two key focal points:

Social enterprise start up, especially legal and funding issues.

The TNP is studying the start up and funding processes of social enterprises, establishing the best legal formula in which social enterprises can flourish.  The objectives are to enable business activity, which in turn levers funding for its activities, and becomes a focus of social and professional re-integration for people threatened by exclusion.

Improvement strategies for already existing social economy organisations.

The key aim is to develop the business and management processes of participating organisations to enable them to act as a capable and reliable producers of products and services. This will help these enterprises to improve their capabilities as employers and thus help them create for their employees individual paths to the (open) labour market. Developing methods for continuous improvement measurements and evaluation are the ways to help them improve their business functions.
