ASSIGN - Mentoring Project, ATLAS Scotland 2 - Action for Training and Learning for Asylum Seekers

Description

The project will be open to asylum seekers from across Glasgow. The overall aim of the project is to assist with integration appropriate to individual needs of asylum seekers. The objectives are to: 1. Develop a mentoring model for existing asylum seekers, offering a part qualification in advice in advice and guidance. 2. Establish support and friendship networks in various locations that asylum seekers themselves may continue. 3. undertake evaluation which will inform Action 3 for the DP as a whole so that we may disseminate our findings, favourable or otherwise, to inform policy in this area. 4. Work with other agencies within the city in order to establish joint working pratices in order to achieve a pathway for asylum seekers enabling them easier access to services as organisations share inforation and signpost to one another 5. Develop learning and suppor materials based upon asylum seekers' personal experiences, which will be available to new asylum seekers in order to assist with their integration into the city
