Research, BEST (Benefiting the Economy and Society Through) Procurement

Activity information

Description

The Sustainable Development Research Centre (SDRC) is the research partner coordinating efforts to make sense of the marketplace - both actual and potential - between the public sector’s demand for goods and services and those of social enterprises as suppliers. Information about market trends and opportunities has been shared with partners and beneficiaries of the programme.

SDRC has also been undertaking in-depth research into the added value of social enterprises as suppliers and the 'procurement journeys' that social enterprises make. The supply and demand information is then analysed to highlight key considerations for policy makers wishing to encourage social enterprise.

Beneficiaries

The social enterprises based in the East Midlands.
