Film and Media EmploymentDiversity in Practice >>

Description

This project involves research into overcoming barriers to diversity in the UK film and media industry.

Workforces in the film and audiovisual industries do not reflect the diversity of the British population, and this has been acknowledged by industry lead bodies. There are a number of barriers to employment for disadvantaged groups in the film and media sector. As a result, over the next few years as the UK population becomes increasingly diverse and there are significantly less white, able-bodied males under 45 in the workforce or recruitment pool, the industry will suffer. There will be a decreasing pool of talent within the industry and few people choosing the industry as a career path.
